Hi, I’m Phillip Joo~
I am a self-motivated and proactive student that carries a strong work ethnic in my studies, work, and hobbies! My outlook on life, both professional and personal, is to take a deep endeavor into everything; without condition or exception.

Having a passion in film, I found myself taking University courses relating to acting, editing, and production.
Through these courses, I befriended many passionate film makers who worked with limited budgets that were determined to produce content.
My instincts were connecting students and seeing where they were able to take themselves, creatively.
Once their 10-40min films were in post production, I would find channels where they were able to publish and share their content, often through Amazon Video.

(2016 - 2020)
Before bots and structured affiliate programs took over social media, I would find accounts that I was interested in, with an approximate following of 1-3k followers and high amounts of engagement. I would request to purchase the accounts. Often for $20-$50 due to a schedule change or lack of content being posted.
2-3 accounts at a time, I would curate and repost content related to passions I was interested in and would see organic growth of 5x leading to an average following of 10k before reselling the same accounts.

While there was a massive rise of influencers and social media platforms during the late 2010’s, I often found myself surrounded with friends and peers who persisted in having an online presence.
Supportive and excited for this opportunity for the people around me to grow in popularity, I provided 7 streamers with equipment (i.e microphones, keyboards, lighting, PC parts) If the streamers were to join the Twitch Partner Program, I would retain 20% of the first year’s payout and 5% less every year following.
My primary focus was to build a schedule around their preferred hours in order to join the Twitch Affiliate Program. This was an easy endeavor, which led to a consistent schedule every quarter.
As time passed, several streamers had busier schedules, or personal reasons for leaving. Until 2020 I had the opportunity to support 2 streamers who made Twitch Partner (averaging 2.5k views) and my primary role was bringing them collaboration deals with Yerba Matte, Taotronics, and Omaker.

(2019 - 2021)
During COVID-19, I found myself surrounded by online players who excelled at two particularly popular games. (Valorant & Apex Legends) While quickly climbing ranks, I found an opportunity to offer ‘boosting’ services to players across the different platforms (PC, Xbox, PS) Boosting: Using high-skilled player skills to increase the rank, stats, and badges of lower-skilled players.
After gathering a group of ethically straight and high ranking players, I was in charge of securing fund, building a schedule according to different time zones, and distributing the proper profits to different players. After making listings on a multitude of channels, our biggest challenge was assuring our customers of any compromise of their accounts.
In total, across two games, we have serviced over 450 different accounts and grossed over $21,000.

What Keeps Me Busy
-
New Tech
There are always new forms of tech that’re being developed, shared, and refined. Blockchain & Artificial Intelligence are two industries of tech that interest me the most. AI making it possible for machines to learn from experience, adapt with new inputs, and create. It’s impact on Healthcare, Finance, and Creative Industries is wildly fascinating.
Blockchain’s impact on accounting transactions and expanding into decentralized versions of existing industries, indicates an exciting future for this space.

Real Estate
Real estate is, at a core, one of the safest investments you can hold. A tangible piece of land, home, or building that, as long as it’s managed properly, can help you retain and build wealth. Unlike stocks, bonds, or Pokémon cards, Real estate doesn’t lose value to inflation year after year.
What makes me excited for my future in Real Estate is the creative process of finding and developing these assets into ‘value-add’ properties.
-
E-Commerce
The hobby that keeps me the most busy is buying and reselling. Whether collectible merchandise, trending gimmicks, or digital services I have tried it all!
I started this side hustle in middle school (2010) jailbreaking friends and classmate’s apple devices and reselling earpods that I would buy from wholesalers. Through many years of understanding trends and what determines a sale price, I have explored many derivatives of commerce, both online and directly.

Art
Everything that surrounds you and me was based off design and art. The roof over your head and the space you are in were designed by architects and graphic designers who have a life’s worth of experience, trauma, and aspirations.
Any opportunity I get, I make sure to explore, not only the museums, but also the local landmarks. From cinema to sculptures, social media has made exploring different medians of art, infinitely easier
